Upgrade of Rayyan Road

Description:

Al Rayyan Road Project P07 is a major expressway connecting the Dukhan Highway to the west and Doha City to the east. This project extends from west of New Rayyan roundabout to east of Bani Hajer roundabout, and comprises the construction and upgrade of 2.9 km of four lanes in each direction separated by a central median, in addition to 1.5 km of side roads, and associated service roads (approximately 5.8 km).
Seero had its contract with Sixco-Boom JV to conduct the Temporary Traffic Management Plan and the traffic analysis study of the road safety audit.

Scope:

Our scope was to evaluate and assess the adequacy of relocating Al Rayyan junction as part of the Temporary Traffic Diversion Design of Al Rayyan Road. The study includes the Diversion Geometry design, the Road Profiles and settings of the traffic signal layout.

Moreover, Road Safety Audit (RSA) has also been conducted for this project at day and night. The Audit was undertaken by an independent RSA Team and was conducted on 3 phases. Problems were found related to Vulnerable Road Users, Signage & Road Marking, Vehicle Restraint Systems, Cross Sections, Junctions and Intersections…etc., and associated recommendations and solutions have been provided.

Al Wakra Bypass Expressway

Al Wakra Bypass Expressway

Description:

A joint venture between Seero Engineering consulting and PAF highways, has been assigned by Larsen & Toubro to conduct RSA’s for the whole schema of P015 – Al Wakra Bypass Expressway, which is a 17 km, 5 lanes dual carriageway, and has 5 main multi-level interchanges. The expressway is located west of Al Wakra, and starts at Al Mashaf Road connecting to Mesaieed Road, the scheme is the main bypass to Al Wakra city.

Scope:

Seero – PAF JV scope for both Stages 4 & 3 is to conduct site visits to examine the scheme for any potential safety concerns that may arises as per the “Road Safety Audit Guidelines & Procedures”, related but not limited to the following:

  1. Non-Motorized users provisions (Pedestrians & Cyclists)
  2. Safety  Barriers, Guardrail and Road Restraint Systems.
  3. Road Signs, Road Marking and Lighting.
  4. Alignment and Cross Section.
  5. Access, New and Existing Road interfaces.

Access Roads to Doha Oasis

Description:

The Doha Oasis project area (0.585 square kilometer) is fully developed. According to the Transport Master Plan of Qatar (TMPQ), Doha Oasis project falls within Zone 13 in the master plan. The project includes around 8000 apartments, 68000 Sq.m commercial uses areas, one school, 8500 sq.m governmental building, 2 mosques, 6 parks and 4 Hotels in addition to some other land properties.

Scope:

The asphalt pavement of the access roads to Doha Oasis was designed as per the standards approved in Qatar (AASHTO 1993 and QHDM). The design provided the pavement structures (layers thicknesses) of the internal roads (driveways) using the AASHTO 1993 design method and QHDM typical pavement sections. The design depended on the traffic estimation and the geotechnical investigation report. A preliminary pavement design report was prepared and submitted to the client.

Description:

The DW012 project area is located within Zone 55 of Al Rayyan Municipality, surrounded by Al Sailiya Street and Al Ashjar Street to the north, Salah Al-Deen Street To the south, Al Furousiya Street and Al Juthay Street to the east and Ibn Mana Street to the west. It is also surrounded by other Doha West projects.

The project covers an area of about 315 hectares, which had lack adequate road and drainage infrastructure and is characteristic of a suburban area with a mix of existing low to medium density housing and undeveloped open spaces and farms along with commercial units, schools, and mosques.

Scope:

The RSA was carried out by Seero Engineering Consulting L.L.C and comprised an examination of the preliminary design drawings along with a site visit. Supporting documents has been supplied by the Design Organization. RSA report indicated each of the problems identified together with recommendations to solve the problems; it includes the Road Safety Audit Team Statement too.

Scope:

Seero Studied the surface water system design using InfoWorks ICM that included the following:

  1. Analyzed and reviewed the submitted optimized ICM model and new trench size.
  2. Studied the changes made on the optimized ICM model from the IFC drawings and identified their impact on the flood/surcharge.
  3. Reviewed all comments raised by PWA for the ICM model and addressed them until closure.
  4. Proposed improvements on Storm Water Drainage system with taking into consideration the existing site conditions.
